Every year there seems to be a player that seems to come from nowhere to be outstanding. Â Sometimes more than one. Â Since we still have a ways before kickoff, my question to you is, “Who will that ‘suprise’ player be this year?” Â
My vote goes to linebacker Malcolm Monroe (R-Freshman). Â Why you ask? A whole lot of gut. Â I haven’t read much about him other than his bio, and I saw him at the Encounter, and I just get the feeling from what he looks like and where he came from, that this kid might be a Daryl Smith in the making. Â Oh, yeah he’s majoring in biotechnology and was named to the national honor society. Â Brains with this kind of body and speed, look out, the next great Tech backer may be arriving on the Flats this Fall. Â
BIO:Â A tall, rangy, athletic player who should be in the linebacker rotation this fall… versatile enough to play almost any position on defense… has a good mix of size and speed… used his redshirt season to learn the defensive scheme and improve strength.
