GT v UNC: Early Preview

3 Comments 03 November 2008

Who cares if there’s six days and a Presidential election in between? This is college football season and politics takes a quick backseat.  Tech goes on to Tobacco Road to face a revived Tar Hill Football program, not since the days of Mack Brown has UNC football really been relevant.  Coach Butch Davis must know a thing or two about recruiting and coaching, they are equally young and talented, and looking to prove something to the nation.  Much may hinge on Tech’s injury report.  Will the Josh Ness-Monster be ready to play, at what level, anything near FSU’s performance would be great.

Someone else to look out for,  I liked what I saw from Nick Claytor, freshman and highly recruited lineman from North Georgia, he played much of the game against FSU and was creating space (o-line’s priority) to work The Johnson (Tech’s offensive system).  He is already a big man who is just going to get bigger, faster, and stronger and maybe most importantly in this system, quicker! Remember #75, Nick Claytor, future stud, and we will need him next week against another quick D-line.

Here are some links to other good reads regarding all things Tech: ESPN projects Tech in Orange Bowl;   H.D. on the attitude change on The Flats, it’s about championships now! And don’t forget to vote for the game changing play of the week.
The good thing for fans is that we can enjoy last weeks victory all week long, stinks for the players, they have to put it behind them and get ready for the next big game.

Saturday’s JGF Gathering???

Let’s discuss time and place for a JGF viewing party.  Can’t make it to the UNC, no problem, join the JGF, the next best thing.  Whose volunteering their place?  I will be glad to arrange food. Game time is noon.

Highlights from last Saturday’s GT v FSU

I won't be making a game for a while, but you can bet I'll be waving the Yellow Jacket flag in Bobo-Dioulasso! Thanks to you all for keeping the “Tech” faith. Save me a seat!

Hate to poo poo on all this excitement, but I just read that Gardner (best offensive lineman) is done at Tech, season ending shoulder surgery. Tech just got younger in a position where youth is exposed most.

I love commenting on my own post, the ultimate in narcissism… I think somehow Tech will pull this one out against many odds, just got a feeling that last week was just the start of something better.
